When we think about how clean are water is what do we really know. Should we be testing are water in are area, how can we test are water, and what are we looking for when it comes to clean drinking water.
Clean drinking water is of great importance in the world. But not every body can test their water with test strips or machines. But if you are close to any store like Walmart, Target or any other store you can find test strips that can help you determine if the water is safe to drink.
In another story I covered on how clean is the water. I showed a test that I conducted that let readers know how clean the water is from the tap. Also in that story I did a interview with the supervisor of Amercain Water in my area. You can also see that interveiw here as well because of the context of the story is realted.
In the interview Terry covers the process of making the drinking water clean. He also tells us where the main supply of water comes from. So i went to that place to take my own test before it is cleaned by a processing plant. I have conducted this test before but couldn't understand the difference. So I asked the question if I didn't know the difference how could my readers. Below you will see a before and after pictures.

Before the water is cleaned water source Vermilion River

After the water is cleaned by a water treatment plant that comes straight from the tap
You can clearly see the difference in the process. The water is definitely cleaner after it has been treated. But that's not enough to understand the process we could still be easily deceived. Because we have read that their should be no lead in are water. I only use lead as an example because it's the most popular term used in society today when it comes to clean drinking water. But the other terms and words are not used in every day conversations on the topic. The EPA has us covered on the topic.
Now that we know how clean the drinking water is and know all the terms in the process. How often should we test are water that comes out of are taps into are homes. If in doubt test it there are laws that are always being improved to ensure the publics safety when it comes to clean drinking water. The Clean Drinking Water Act was established in 1974 that the EPA enforces. But what if you can't trust a government agency. There are non profit organizations, Water companies, and your local city municipal offices that can provide the information you need to know. They may not know if the drinking water is not up to the standards the EPA enforces, or be aware of the problem at all. So if in doubt test the water and use a reference point to ensure that the water you are consuming is safe and passes the water test.
